"Ma - Space In Beween"
Presented by: Sayo Harris - Ikenobo School
Ma refers to an artistic interpretation of an empty space, often holding as much importance as the rest of an artwork. It appears in many areas of Japanese arts and culture, and Ikebana is one of them. Let’s try to capture Ma!
Sayo explained that as the person making the arrangement, you are the producer and director of your arrangement. The flowers and materials are the actors in your arrangement. There are both lead actors and supporting actors in your arrangement.
A workshop was held after the demonstration. Keep scrolling down to see those photos.
