"Focusing on Water"
Presented by: Kay Storck, Sogetsu School
Water is an essential aspect of ikebana arrangements but primarily for preserving the life of flowers and plants. Attention is centered on the composition among the materials and the container. In this demonstration water was an integral part of the arrangement itself. Kay placed emphasis on ways to use the water to express its presence as an integral aspect of the composition. She explored ways to use transparent vases or ceramic containers with water view to present the various features of water.
